Whoever invented 2 week sprints for Agile and Scrum needs a swift kick in the nuts. Factor in all the meetings for refinement and planning and you effectively lose 3-4 days of the sprint when compiling the hours spent in meetings. 3 week sprints should be the norm. #devslife
Happy Pride Month. Don’t allow anyone else to tell you how to celebrate or what it means. Just be you and say FU to those that can’t take your awesomeness. #Pride2022
#WebDev it's one of those days where even VSCode has input lag. I am genuinely concerned about how we keep building ever more complex systems on foundations that are just so fragile.
The chip shortage is a labour thing this time, but what if the factories fall into the sea? How are we gonna keep all this infrastructure running?
Same for software, networks, everything. I'm evidently not the only one thinking about it lol https://xkcd.com/2347/
The real thing that sucks here is that anyone thought these NFTs were an "investment" rather than a novelty asset.
If you're thinking of buying NFTs, you should be treating them like you would a set of football stickers, Pokemon cards, or Pogs.
Some might be worth some money in the future - but really, 99.9% of them are going to be worthless as time goes on.
Do you want your posts to be seen by as many people as possible on here?
If so, it's important to use hashtags. Hashtag searches are the main way people find posts on the Fediverse. If a post doesn't have hashtags, people probably won't see it in search results.
Don't worry about using too many tags! As long as they are relevant, it is fine to have lots of tags. Many put a long list of them at the end of the post.
Also, if you are using tags, it's important to set the post's visibility to "Public" so that the post appears in search results.
On Mastodon you can set a post's visibility by clicking the visibility icon at the bottom of the post when you're writing it (the icon looks like a globe 🌐 , lock 🔒 or @ sign).
You can set your default post visibility by logging in through the website and going to Preferences > Other > Posting Privacy, select the default you want and click "Save Changes".
Hi fediverse! Boosts appreciated on this one.
I’m part of a co-op building a platform for artists to sell art without getting exploited. I’ve been working on it for a while but there’s a lot of work to do and I could use some help. A ton of the main features are in place, but there’s still some big gaps and a lot of polish left before it can launch.
The platform is fully open source and developed in the open. It’s built on Phoenix/Elixir and Tailwindcss. Our co-op is already incorporated and established and it’s open to members that want to actually commit but you don’t need to be a member to contribute or help.
Does this sound interesting? I’d love some help! I’m also happy to answer questions. And no, you don’t need to know Elixir already. It’s pretty easy to learn for the things you’d be using it for. Even some design help would be welcome. Feel free to reply here or DM me!
