Everyone wants to look at the technology, but I suspect the biggest problems arise from the processes we use.
Application not working? Crappy UX? Insecure code? Burnt out employees? Missed deadlines? Guarantee most major problems you see will have a defective and non-empathetic human process in the center of it.
People are amazing, and we need to do better to provide them with the room and support to thrive in both their careers and personal lives.
If you’re using JWT, spend extra care to make sure your doing it right. Despite being simple, it’s so easy to get it wrong and result in a compromise due to broken auth.
If your org has $$$, highly recommend regularly auditing your JWT implementation. If you’re using an open source JWT implementation, extra kudos if you send the results to the upstream team!
Several independent audits will move the needle!
@Taniwha it's the equivalent to
"I want to play games"
_turns on ps4_
*system update*
"I'm out of time to play games"
don't force updates when devices turn on! (we have idle checks in Play for exactly this reason)
I've been playing with a hand rolled shell script for markdown driven static sites for a while, but then @Taniwha pointed me at Hugo.
so I ported my old dev blog posts over.
still fiddling with the theme, and I need to add more projects, but https://hamon.dev is up and running.

This is one of the most spectacular sunsets I ever saw while working at ESO's Paranal Observatory in Chile.
The Atacama Desert is extremely dry, but clouds do show up sometimes. That day there were several dark clouds releasing very light rain that vaporised before reaching the ground. These wispy veils (called "virga") were lit by the golden sunset light, creating a lovely contrast with the blue sky above.
