I'm fucking pissed about the #Google #Layoffs right now. Not because I'm affected (I work for a nonprofit now! it rules!). Not because any of my close friends and ex-colleagues were directly affected. Not even because Google decided to do it at all.

But rather because Wall Street *made* Google do it.

I don't mind the idea of "we need to cut costs in order to break even".

But I hate the idea of "we need to cut costs to make *as much* of a profit as Wall Street gamblers want".
