Proud to start sharing Google's strategy for tackling our remaining memory safety challenges: https://security.googleblog.com/2024/10/safer-with-google-advancing-memory.html
It's high level, but it outlines the long-term strategy. We'll be sharing more detailed posts in this series.

Wait carbon is still a thing being developed?
@portaloffreedom yep, we're pretty actively working on it. Can check out the GitHub page: https://github.com/carbon-language/carbon-lang
@chandlerc
I tried a few months ago and it felt really early stages (supporting only one number type?)
But I really like the concept.
@portaloffreedom yep, early stages. We're also not cutting corners to get more basics working early, but steadily building up foundations. We had a much more prototype oriented interpreter to explore a lot of the ideas, and are now getting a realistic and high quality implementation that could be used to evaluate the language.
@chandlerc
Cool, I'll keep following the project and see where this goes
