ChuffedGreen Heart Preloved Store Launch GatesheadThere are 1.6 billion items of unworn clothing in UK wardrobes. And in the time you’re taking to read these first two sentences, a truck load of textiles has already gone to landfill. Since Green Heart Collective opened its doors on Team Valley, Gateshead in January 2021, we’ve been able to rehome thousands of items that we’ve rescued from landfill. This includes items sold in store and online, but also the items we continue to donate to local charities such as Peace of Mind North East, Care4Calais & Red Sky Foundation, and local organisations and schools from Eliot Smith Dance to Brighton Avenue Primary School.We’re now looking to move to Gateshead High Street to offer affordable preloved fashion, wellbeing items and books in a more accessible location with greater footfall. We’re excited to reach a wider audience, particularly students and young people who are already embracing the preloved revolution.Moving our online and in person business across to the new premises will take a lot of time and energy. But we will also need to spend funds in order to get the new premises up to scratch, as well as returning our old warehouse to its original condition.If you would like to play your part in bringing this sustainable alternative to fast fashion and mass consumption to the High Street, we would really appreciate any donation you can make to help us with our move and make our High Street store the best it can be.
