@tokyo_0 The bulk of people who are not in the fedi are not saying it's too complicated. They're not saying anything at all because they're entirely unaware or barely aware of its existence and there's nothing making it attractive enough to devote attention to learning about it.
@dalias @tokyo_0 IME (boomer with a whole lot of Gen X interaction), people *do* say this when it comes to migrating.
Heard it a lot from people who wouldn't leave the hellsite during the Great Migration 2.5 years ago (which is when I joined here). Seeing it now, with great frustration, as those same people now leave Shitter for Bullshit Kentucky. Also seeing it from my friends who are now considering migrating off Facebook (I personally need to stay there for now, for my volunteer work).
@dalias @tokyo_0 Which again, is probably a generational thing, because literally *everyone* I know is or was on either FB or Twitter, and mostly both. I'm a young Boomer with most of my activist friends within 15-20 years of my age. The younger people we're finally able to bring in, many were on Twitter but nobody's here.
