I will not be traveling to Texas. I’ve declined one professional invitation already. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2025/03/17/the-unchecked-authority-of-greg-abbott, archived at https://archive.ph/2025.03.10-101653/https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2025/03/17/the-unchecked-authority-of-greg-abbott.
at one point in my career when i was consulting, i used to charge $100/hr but had two additional fees:
- $25/hour if you made me wear a tie
- $25/hour including travel if you made me go to TX
at this point, you couldn't pay me enough to go to TX for biz.
@paul_ipv6 @heidilifeldman Added fees for requiring travel to TX should at least cover a $10M+ insurance policy to cover any and all legal fees, medical or other emergency evacuation, etc. in the event of a mishap from the backwardsness of the state.
at this point, it would require a federal court order for me.
