I think I’ve found a dealbreaking limitation in the new #Figma #variable #prototyping which they’ve possibly intentionally obscured. Happy to be proved wrong.

You can’t update a complement variant with an interaction with itself.

Their sample file (World Peas’ watermelon page) shows an ‘add to basket’ button that updates to ‘unavailable’ when watermelons == 0, HOWEVER: that only works if the interaction is assigned to the the hover state variant. Useless for mobile prototypes!
