(I actually was reading the second byte, but it had the same value and because I wasn't zeroing the register out it wasn't changing my sim wave.)

I thought I'd take a stab at running this on real , just to see how much work I had ahead of me. It actually Just Worked pretty much out of the box (once I untied myself from my testbench variables). Took less time to make it work than it did to make this video. (Not counting 24h to get the UART to do anything at all...)

Do you realize the power that's nearly within our grasp, now that some genius has figured out how to read a few bytes?!
