4:04, sleep not found
@ian 5:00, internal sleep error
@ian Oh, that's a good one!
@ian what's sleep, all I know is laying in bed with eyes closed
@gsora @ian you may be pleased to know that lying down with the intent of sleeping has just as good a restorative effect as sleeping itself! So lying down eyes closed is like 90% of the good that actual sleeping gives you! It’s in a SciShow episode somewhere, I had a quick look but couldn’t find the exact one
@henrahmagix @ian oh really? Didn't know that, will do research on it. I often """wake up""" not well rested, and giving up caffeine didn't help either.
I have to have my sleep checked up i think.
@gsora @henrahmagix @ian Please, please, please do! When I did a sleep study (actually more than one) I found out that I've basically not been sleeping for maybe ten years. I rarely slept more than a few minutes at a time and that cycling explained a lot of other health problems.
I got a CPAP (BIPAP actually) and while I'm not 100%, the difference between a CPAP night and an analog night is enormous.
It *can* take work to find a mask and settings that work best for you. It's made more of a difference in my quality of life than everything other than stimulant meds for ADHD. Plus, if you have both sleep problems *and* ADHD, doing one without the other might cause significant long-term problems.
