Beware of developing a personal sense of ideological purity, because no matter how good or wise or well-thought-out the ideology may be, getting it entangled with your sense of self makes you an easy mark.
(The antidote is never, ever, ever letting go of “Maybe I’m wrong”)

I mean, the Republicans endorsing Harris basically say as much in their statement; it’s diplomacy-speak for “We hate this person and we’re going to fight every single she does, and even •we• think she’s clearly better than Trump.” Like…there’s zero promise of political cooperation there beyond agreeing to remain democracy. This is hardly a secret.

Bear in mind that the 2020 election was before Jan 6th, "Hang Mike Pence", and Trump pathologically fighting Republicans in Georgia until both Senate runoffs went Democratic.
I'm just saying ... there have been a lot of half-ton straws to break the camel's back since the 2020 election.
... and beware of ideologies in general. Study and learn from them and harvest any good ideas they have, but don't wrap it around you.

Yes. I’m of a mind that •all• beliefs about fact, process, system, or mechanism must be provisional (i.e. open to rethinking). It’s extremely dangerous to believe you’ve figured out how to solve the world’s problems •with certainty•, because it opens the door to prioritizing hypothetical, uncertain utopia in the future over real, predictable harm in the present.

On this side of the Atlantic, onetime Stalinist Sahra Wagenknecht, previously one of the leaders of the Left Party, has now broken off and formed her own party called The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (ego much?). And now she has indicated that she would be open to collaboration with the ultra-right AfD, which has been officially classed as ultra-right extremist in some states by the federal intelligence agencies. You can’t make this stuff up.
