Hello Fediverse! I'm Jake, a Software Engineer that likes building cool, impactful things! I've written mostly JavaScript and TypeScript in my career and love #containers, #kubernetes, and #nix / #nixos.

@jakehamilton snowfall looks nice! The file system functions are fantastic. My flakes are littered with janky path manipulation.
@snowytrees thank you! I hope it's helpful to others. Snowfall Lib was born out of having to manage my own config's modules, packages, systems, etc. I had pretty much created my own utilities to handle it and decided it could be useful for others too :)

@jakehamilton Hey Jake,
I just finished watching your NixOS Flake Tour on YouTube and wanted to say thanks! I've been messing around with NixOS for while now and knew it was the future, but I couldn't quite figure out how to make it organized in my mind. Your video was extremely helpful and I'm going to use it as the basis of deploying all my computers. It might take a while, but I'm determined to do it. Thanks again.

What's the best way to be notified that you are doing a YouTube live stream if I don't have a Google account and I'm not actively monitoring Mastodon?
@waterbuffalo hmm, I'm not too sure. I think having a YouTube account would be the best answer right now since it'd be the least noisy with notifications purely for streams/videos.
But vods are always available :)
