I’ve started writing a new blog post for the first time in a _long_ time, and I’ve decided to write about the things I’ve learned when starting a new #devrel job. To round it out, I’d love to hear some of the “first things” you do when you have started at a new company.
@jerdog understand to reasonable depth how business actually makes/loses money.
@krishna invaluable, especially as you identify ways to support goals. Also good to know this before you take the role, but too often forgotten about in the mix.
@jerdog Find a copy of the org chart. When drinking from the firehouse, any signal that helps provide context and prioritize importance is welcome.
If there is no maintained org chart, well.... that is also a signal.
