wip , continuing on "crow tools" appliqué patch for project keeper

wip crows are outlined, after spool and scissors are stitched, I can wash away the soluble transfer paper. edit: hopefully the pen lines will wash off!

wip fully outlined, may add a little edge fill to the crows, but they are intended to stay as needle sketches. After a warm rinse to lift the soluble transfer paper ("Sulky Sticky Fabri-Solvy"). Now drying. Will be used as a front decoration on a patchwork project keeper.

Laying out the front cover of the project and tool keeper to see how the piecing will go. WIP

wip Need to consult with Ami Simms' Invisible Appliqué before next step.

Starting the appliqué on the small medallion.

First medallion placed. Next one for sure gets a sewing line on the base fabric. I winged it with Amelia Bedelia here and did okay but could do better. After steam pressing, with mirror view showing reverse side stitches.

drawing the base fabric sewing line for the larger medallion ... on BART. (edit: pic)

Pencil is fine for the sewing line on the lighter colored patch which will go over the base. I care a little more about not bleeding because it will show more than on the dark plaid. It's two-layered and a little stiffer than the Amelia Bedelia patch on the project keeper's inside pocket.

pinning and trimming. The patch is a fused double layer of canvas and will settle better without excess seam allowance.

@cour13r5 ty! thinking that this scale is a challenge for the hoop, but it's two fused layers of fabric so although it wiggles in the hoop, it doesn't pull with the stitching tension

@cour13r5 I like the mirror view of the back, first time I have tried it with embroidery.

@jmeowmeow very cool. I can’t wait to see the final result.

@cour13r5 TY, I should practice circle appliqué a little before the next step.
