The rubber from the circle pad on my 3DS fell off, the robber has some tears on it so it will not stay one even if I put it back. I tried to use it with like that, but it was too slippery and my finger started to hurt after an hour of play session.
Probably I could just leave to be like that, but I thought since there's replacement ones sold even if those are not original I will be better of with them then the original without its rubber.
I had ordered two of those plastic parts from different sellers, they seemed different even in the images and sure after they arrived look different, more different then on the images. The more expensive one is made with more care without those ruff edges that can be seen bellow in the pics, they are made of plastic without the rubber in the top and both have some painting in the top where the rubber should be. The cheaper one's painting where applied less carefully and it's more obvious that it's painted just by looking at it.
Sadly I forgot to took a pictures of the replacement circle pad that I ended using that looks better and of the replacement joystick before I put them into the 3DS. Now I can't show the differences between the cheaper and the more expensive replacement circle pads. I only have pics of the cheaper one and have some pics of the original one after I took it out just for copmarision.
I think I don't need to say more about the replacement one the pics can't talk for themselves.
I used the one that costed more and looked like the original, it's made of white plastic instead of black, in size there is very little difference, it's only a tid bit smaller then the original. Of course the feel is different then the original with it's rubber, but it's fine and better then the original without its rubber.
Some pics from the original circled pad that I took out.
I bought a replacement joystick too just in case if that too needs to be changed and sure after disemboweling the 3DS up until I can remove the joystick the original one started to come apart, bunch of little plastic powder parts can be seen all over the joystick and there's some inside of joystick. That needed to be replaced also. The replacement joystick look similar to the original one with a very noticeable shorter ribbon cable, that made it a bit more difficult to deal with, but not that big of a deal.
The replacement parts feel compared to the original ones to me almost the same. I didn't noticed any difference between the replacement joystick and the original one they feel the same to me. The little plastic part the joystick cap thingy, the circle pad feels very different, it's very noticeable but at least it's less slippery then the original without the rubber and whiteout my finger hurting after hours of playing.
