@liztai@hachyderm.ioThe benefit of knowing multiple languages is …. If the English subtitles are hopeless, you can try other languages to see if it's better. I suspect these Malay subs were made by an actual human while the English subs were made by a bot with a screw loose.
Fyi, yes I can actually watch these without subs, but as this is a costumed drama, sometimes they use archaic words that I don't understand 
I should be less lazy and watch it with Chinese subs but I am tired from an intense day of work, ok? 
PS Drama is called “Towards the Truth”, which you can watch via the iQiyi app. It's actually quite good!
Years ago, I caught the film "Every Which Way but Loose" in Switzerland... so had German and French, with English audio... much funnier than the film.
@liztai I so wanted to watch this drama, but with these English subs, impossible. They made me rant here the other day, too. I doubt that German & French are better, so no chance but to step up my Mandarin learning. Well, motivation is motivation, I guess.
@Katztronaut I was thinking that this drama would make a good fansub project, but why do they have to hard code the Chinese subtitles 
. If they have an srt file I could create subs in minutes !
