@liztai Ohhhh I love it! I’ve been using todo.txt for a while and the simplicity is its strength. I used my own text calendar last year but reminders and sharing events are strong arguments for a regular digital calendar. Thanks so much for the link! @jhpot

@ellane My only problem with txt Todo lists is that each time I open the computer screen I get lost and end up somewhere else. But a plain notebook with a list helps me. It's sad, I feel that an Obsidian Daily Note would be so ideal for me but my brain can't seem to cope lol @jhpot

@liztai interesting! At first I used rules index cards for my to-do list, with some success. For appointments, though, the only thing that worked for me was when I put them on a smartphone, synced with the cloud.

Now I'm a long-time todo.txt user, but I need it on my phone, and SimpleTask is unmaintained, so I'm considering moving to tasks.org synced through DAVx⁵

@lffontenelle Swiftodo might not be maintained but it works well on my iPhone. On my Mac I use VS Code for todo.txt. @liztai

@liztai When paper works better than digital (whatever the reason), you have your answer! I fully get what you mean about the siren song of what purports to be a simple digital solution. Oftentimes in practice they're anything but simple!
