Random question on the subject of window managers.

Is anyone out there still using ? And if so, how are you integrating "modern" needs (e.g. network config, battery monitoring)?

I have really fond memories of using back in the day, before moving on to .

@maplin
I don't use exactly that wm, but I use sowm in all my machines/systems.
I config my networks in rc.local and about battery, I have a simple function that shows the % of battery in the terminal prompt.

@maplin I use fvwm daily and has for some time. The nice thing about standalone wm's are that you can combine them with whatever you like. For example, I use tint2 as a desktop panel, which includes a systray, and al kinds of apps can be collected there.

For example I use gnome's network app (I think), some simple volume- and battery-icon. And also home-made desktop-indicator and keyboard layout indicator, which just outputs text to tint2.
