Matt Beran

I’m at an IT governance conference with 400-800 of the people who design the IT processes.

Do you want to read what I learn and hear?

Great opening keynote speech with lessons for resilience and survival in the face of overwhelming impossibility.

Perfect content for IT.

Words, while free, provide value and inspire innovation, change and creativity.

How much do you budget for Change Enablement? Great question!!

“How many of you have CAB meetings?”
60% of the room raises their hands. This is why we can’t have nice things.

Just realizing how I SHOULD be doing threads based on session. God I love the fediverse

Final day at

Yesterday I learned that PeopleCert bought the DevOps institute, now what new things will I learn today?

All three keynotes have been women this year! I also noted about a 50/50 split of women/men. Thank goodness we are making progress! @hellofears

Keynote speaker challenging us to set a goal and work on it every day for 100 days. Good way to build habits, change lives and achieve goals!

@hellofears

Hers was to pick a new fear every day. Brave. Powerful.

Fear home instability- do it.
Heights- skydive
Spiders- do it

@hellofears

No one is judging us, like the way we judge ourselves. @hellofears

Leaders don’t need to be fearless, they can show their vulnerability and honesty AND then overcoming them.

Imagine the effect this would have on teams!
@hellofears

Change:
“What’s the worst thing that can happen” to “what’s the best thing that can happen”
@hellofears

Fear is not ALL bad. Fear keeps us safe too… fear can be an opportunity as well. @hellofear

What are your top values? And how can you be more intentional about them day to day? @hellofears

The enemy of success is comfort. @hellofears

How would it feel to overcome your fears? @hellofears

In a session on the future of from the product managers.

The red stuff is new.

@mattberan have fun! One of these days I'll make my way to it.

@mattberan were those the people behind DASA and the DevOps cert?

@joelpomales I think so- they publicize DOFD and DOL.

I’m going to grill them about it today and on the podcast.

@mattberan ITIL sommelier = get the wine that matches your business process

@vorsprung LOL - YES! We've finally gotten to this point. The question is; are we early, on time or late?

@mattberan I feel better having (or going to be staying) just on ITIL v4 Foundations. I'm just going in a different direction now.

Not that ITIL's irrelevant. I'm not going to pursue certification in it as I did v3.

@joelpomales nailed it. I feel like it's VERY similar to PMP now. Where the training is what is most valuable - the CERT is for people dedicating their lives to it.
