Organized sports are linked to far right public sentiment and political violence. It's been used to recruit & radicalize.

Robert and Nicole are correct: Most US sports fans support racist views, and the more rabid the fan, the more right wing. Football has lots of racism baked in.
There are some weird overlays on this though: conversely, basketball fans tend to be more liberal / left wing. 3 guesses why.
And MMA, powerlifting, and Bodybuilding are *super weird in a specific way: Fashy people are huge fans of sports where most of the champs are Black or middle eastern.

Every Mr. Olympia winner for the past *40 years* has been Black or middle eastern except for 3. And those 3 white guys are vocally anti-fascism and anti-racism.
And bodybuilding is a beauty pageant for men. The criteria are arbitrary and entirely made up! They could've chosen any beauty standard they wanted, but intentionally chose one that is easier for Black and middle eastern men to achieve than European men? Why? I'll never understand.
