Regardless of income, all mothers in Flint, Michigan can now receive $1,500 mid-pregnancy, followed by $500 a month of #basicincome for 12 months after their child is born. This is the most universal of any guaranteed income program so far, with zero means-testing.

Sorry, is that basic income, that sounds more or less pregnancy benefits here in Austria, although I think it's for 3 years, if the father takes the time off work to care for the baby for at least 2 months.
Or if you prefer to go back to work faster, you can take more money per month in a faster time frame.
@scottsantens amazing! This is so vital I struggled after my child was born.
@scottsantens have they sorted the water issue yet as well?

What “Pro Life” actually looks like
@scottsantens@hachyderm.io The fact that it doesn't include $500 a month for the same period for single dads is shameful.
@scottsantens
Republicans think the state should spend $2000 for each $500 to find out where the money is spent. Sure, that makes sense, to Republicans who want to shovel money to their friends.
@scottsantens great to see.
@scottsantens is that so they can buy clean water?

Don't we want our future to thrive?
