When I vacuum, I can’t vacuum like a normal person: I have to put on the short end of the vac and squat and squat walk around the house to do it.

It just feels.. more fun? Also reminds me of all my grandmothers squatting and cleaning. I like squatting.

I even do it when eating sometimes; instead of like sitting on a chair.

The Atlantic · What Is the ‘Asian Squat’ and Why Can’t Everyone Do It?By Sarah Zhang

@skinnylatte In my part of the world, it’s something in what a Russian subculture called ‘gopniki’ are pros 😅

@skinnylatte OK, my @agnese is correcting me. She says that the gopnik squat is an easy game, and completely different from the Asian one, which she would never be able to do.

@ojars @agnese oh! What’s the difference?

@skinnylatte @agnese She is telling me that the difference is in the angles of knees.

@ojars @skinnylatte @agnese I believe in the Asian one your knees are (nearly?) touching (each other), and maybe the ankles as well. Cannot speak from experience - all my family members can do this and I fall over when I try...

@skinnylatte
I used to be able to squat like that easily when I was younger. But having gained weight it is a lot less easy.
