Black pepper squid with house-made Spätzle (a German style pasta), daun kesum (vietnamese mint), spring onions and a lemon pangrattato.
People wax lyrical about Singapore Chilli Crab, but honestly, Black Pepper Crab is where it's at.
There's something about the sweet, musky and floral notes in the toasted peppercorns that marry so well with burnt butter, chilli and curry leaves.

@skinnylatte @SRDas yes! White pepper crab is even more floral so underrated.
@skinnylatte @nihilistnomya I have super fond memories of a meal in Madurai - so many things, soft soft idlis, kotthu paratha, but most of all an incredible crab "omelette" - kid2 was 8 or so then, she asked for and we got more, as she kept eating, tears rolling down her cheeks.
