Hell money: in Taoist Chinese culture, we burn paper money for our ancestors to use in hell
(Yes we believe everybody goes to hell)

they are all planning offerings/when to actually do it now. funniest thing i've seen my family burn is dentures for my grandmother, and a passports + plane tickets for my grandparents to have a second honeymoon

@timrichards you’re also supposed to burn or offer food for folks in hell so yep
@timrichards @skinnylatte I'm sure that Dante's version of hell has a ring in which there's fantastic food on display for ever, into which gluttons are sent: either they must eat continuously, or not at all (can't remember which, maybe there are two rings).
@skinnylatte I always like to offer food and goods as well because inflation is through the roof there. My mum’s fave was egg custard tarts
