Hello humans!
New instance, new #introduction post.
I’m Sarah, a #frontend developer (at the moment working on components, not SPAs or web sites). I like #DataViz and I’m bad at prioritizing it while working on my side projects.
I’m also interested in languages. I’m fluent in English and Czech, somewhat good in Spanish, Estonian and Russian. Also learning Japanese, French and Slovenian. #languageLearning
@xgebi Is Czech your native language? I have just more or less given up on Polish after a few lessons, it’s so hard.
Before that I completed Ukrainian on Duolingo (it’s not a very long course yet) and Drops (even shorter).
Now I’m back to improving my French on Duolingo (had 4 years in school) and Danish on Drops (I completed on Duolingo early last year).
I can kind of read Italian, Spanish and Portuguese but not have a conversation.
@xgebi Chinese (1-3) and Arabic (1-5) classes were pretty unsuccessful, I only know some phrases and words.
I forgot most of my German Sign Language.
Dutch I can understand even though I only had two classes but only because it is so similar to German.
I’m doing Russian on Babbel (had it in school and uni) but it’s barely progressing. Ukrainian turned out to be much easier!
@GreenSkyOverMe Czech is my parents’ language
