I’m 30 minutes into #CodedBias (the #Netflix #documentary on #AI). Everything they are saying is against capitalism and certain politics, and very little is actually about AI.
They somehow attribute so many bad things happening around the world to the use of AI, saying that AI is just replicating the past. But I feel like if the past taught us anything it’s that bad things happened way before modern technology…
Why blame AI, which can do as much good as it can do bad?
As an outsider in this field, the things that concern me most are the potential crossovers between #cybernetics and #AI.
I'm sure they'll occur and I can't see how having someone else's #copyright running your life will ever be good. Maybe this crossover will never happen?
Maybe there'll have to be some international agreement that anything inside you has to be #foss
@stackerlee I share your concerns but I think the way to fight politics is by fighting politics and the way to “fight” “bad” AI is regulation, which is why the documentary was really missing the point imo
