There are a few exceptions, but it's true: white folks are in steadfast denial about not just where this place is headed, but where it is right now. I've tried to engage friends and family so many times in so many different ways over the years, and mostly I've learned that it's a great way to get people to talk to you less.
Like they have a budget for how much negativity they can handle in a given day, and it's not even enough to fully perceive reality at this point.
