Taffer 🇨🇦 :godot:<p>I've now moved all my 1Password data from the US to Canada: <a href="https://support.1password.com/regions/#change-your-region" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">support.1password.com/regions/</span><span class="invisible">#change-your-region</span></a></p><p>Apparently you can just sign up for Canada or EU storage now when you create an account. 👍 </p><p>That just leaves finding a good replacement for Todoist.</p><p>🇨🇦 </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/buycanadian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>buycanadian</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/cloud" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cloud</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/1password" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>1password</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.gamedev.place/tags/todoist" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>todoist</span></a></p>
Michael Harley<p>Y'all, I'm kind of struggling with my switch to <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/KeePassXC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KeePassXC</span></a> from <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/1Password" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>1Password</span></a>. 1Password allowed me to save credit card information then easily use it while browsing. <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/KeePass" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>KeePass</span></a> doesn't really seem to have that option. No big deal, I'll just use Firefox to store credit card info instead. Only problem, it doesn't seem to save the code, so what good does that do? I have to get up and go find the card or save the code somewhere else? Not ideal. Meh.</p>
Jeff MacKinnon<p>Ok, so what is the fediverse's opinion on Bitwarden and Vaultwarden?</p><p>I was giving GrapheneOS a spin and since 1password doesn't have an FDroid app I spun up a vaultwarden docker and installed Bitwarden.</p><p>Functionally I like it, and it could be an alternative for my 2FA keys too.</p><p>Anything that I should be watching out for? Is there any gotchas that I'm missing?</p><p><a href="https://bluenoser.me/tags/1password" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>1password</span></a> <a href="https://bluenoser.me/tags/vaultwarden" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vaultwarden</span></a> <a href="https://bluenoser.me/tags/bitwarden" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bitwarden</span></a> <a href="https://bluenoser.me/tags/fdroid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fdroid</span></a> <a href="https://bluenoser.me/tags/selfhosting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosting</span></a></p>

Weird, my Safari iCloud tabs started syncing again! 🎉

I also tried Orion for a bit as my default browser, it's solid but I think actually uses quite a bit more battery on both macOS and iOS (could be wrong). I do also miss the 1Password extension on iOS even if iOS AutoFill still works.

After some initial resistance, I tried 1Password 8 for a few months and...

I was right to avoid it for so long. It's garbage.

1P7 would occasionally have trouble filling out web forms, but 1P8 took that as a challenge. The -| shortcut to fill out webforms was nice... But in terms of efficiency, it was a backup plan at best.

I've deleted 1P8 and reinstalled 1P7. We'll see how this goes. Am I just reminiscing over rose tinted memories?

One thing I'm mildly concerned about with Bazzite is having "all" apps as Flatpaks, specifically around interop with each other and the OS.

Generally these work fine. I've got a Flatpak Vivaldi on my Tumbleweed system and it doesn't integrate with the OS' fingerprint scanner to unlock 1Password, so I have to password unlock it frequently.

Yo #1Password folks: I’m looking for a way to restrict some items from being accessible on my gaming PC (Windows 11). Sounds like a Vault would work for this, but

Since I have a Family plan, the only ways I can find to restrict a Vault from a specific device is to either

A) Create a new user on my Family account for my PC and remove Vaults from it, or
B) Upgrade to a Business plan

Am I reading this right, or did I miss something?
