stirz ✅<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://oldbytes.space/@Wintermute_BBS" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>Wintermute_BBS</span></a></span> I recall an article about <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/BASICODE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BASICODE</span></a> for the <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/commodore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>commodore</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/C64" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>C64</span></a> published Back in the 80s. There were such things as BASICODE radio broadcasts which you could record to tape and then load into your homecomputer. What completely blew my mind were thin plastic records (as in "record player") which were added as supplements to magazines - required you to connect the record player to the tape port. I guess that's peak geekdom.</p>
µP<p>One of the more successful attempts to "standardize" <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/BASIC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BASIC</span></a> was <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/BASICODE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BASICODE</span></a>.</p>
