@bookstodon Tangentially, now I'm waiting for my last ever purchase from #BookDepository : the Everyman's Library edition of Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment (the Pevear and Volokhonsky translation).
And I have a copy of The Brothers Karamazov (in a Spanish Penguin Classics edition) waiting for me to read it since last year...

Just noticed the book depository is closing. It was better for books than amazon, even after amazon bought them. Now amazon is removing yet another option from the web in their endless march to domination.
This is worrying. It has been a great source of books in English for me for the last ten years.
So #Amazon is closing #BookDepository. This follows on the heals of them announcing they're shuttering #DPReview last week. Both well-regarded and well-patronised companies.
Perish the thought that a pattern might be developing, but if you are a regular patron of any of the following, you might want to start thinking about alternatives:

Even though it's been owned by Amazon, Book Depository being closed by the giant parent company is still sad news.
