Alexandre B A Villares 🐍<p>Anyone here using the <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/HackMD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HackMD</span></a> API? I have this hacky <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a> "helper" based on two abandoned libraries on PyPI... (mine adds supprt to the teams features)<br> I don't have the energy to maintain this as a proper project, but it might be useful to someone: <a href="https://gist.github.com/villares/177c2323d424d5b2b0de49570fb4e2fd" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gist.github.com/villares/177c2</span><span class="invisible">323d424d5b2b0de49570fb4e2fd</span></a></p>
Alexandre B A Villares 🐍<p>I shouldn't be doing this, but here we are... a hacky <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/hackmd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hackmd</span></a> API "helper" in <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a> <a href="https://gist.github.com/villares/177c2323d424d5b2b0de49570fb4e2fd" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gist.github.com/villares/177c2</span><span class="invisible">323d424d5b2b0de49570fb4e2fd</span></a></p>
Alexandre B A Villares 🐍<p>I have more than 100 notes on <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/hackmd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hackmd</span></a>, I have some scripts to download them, and also download the images on the notes. With a few tweeks (to make links bewtween pages work, and images load from a local copy) now my downloads are integrated with my <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/logseq" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>logseq</span></a> notes ...</p><p>Bonus: the free tier hackmd account is terrible for searching, now I have great search from my local logseq notes :)</p><p>One day I should move from hackmd to <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/hedgedoc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hedgedoc</span></a> <a href="https://hedgedoc.org/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">hedgedoc.org/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> but I don't have the energy right now.</p>
Alexandre B A Villares 🐍<p>Uso muito <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/HackMD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HackMD</span></a> <a href="https://hackmd.io" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">hackmd.io</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> nas minhas aulas e atividades didáticas no Sesc.

Alexandre B A Villares 🐍<p>So I have made some hacky scripts to download/backup my stuff from <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/HackMD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HackMD</span></a> ... works for me, your mileage may vary, etc.</p><p><a href="https://gist.github.com/villares/f4f35630c28222767dd276fd08bcdbb5" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gist.github.com/villares/f4f35</span><span class="invisible">630c28222767dd276fd08bcdbb5</span></a></p><p>It all started when HackMD.io announced the end of image uploads on imgur, and I uploaded all images somewhere else but now there is some image hosting and gave up, for now I think... (but I still keep a local backup of everything)</p>
Alexandre B A Villares 🐍<p>So, these are my hacky <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a> scripts to <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/backup" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>backup</span></a> <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/HackMD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HackMD</span></a> notes locally, including images (<a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/imgur" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>imgur</span></a> change of policy was the main motivation for doing this)</p><p><a href="https://gist.github.com/villares/f4f35630c28222767dd276fd08bcdbb5" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gist.github.com/villares/f4f35</span><span class="invisible">630c28222767dd276fd08bcdbb5</span></a></p><p>I should add a third script that modifies the notes on HackMD so the image links point to some server under my control (I have to think a bit more about this).</p>
Alexandre B A Villares 🐍<p>So this was my <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Python</span></a> + <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/TOML" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TOML</span></a> based solution for small hacky personal scripts (the <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/hackmd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hackmd</span></a> download notes example):</p>
Alexandre B A Villares 🐍<p>I asked hackmd.io about the recent imgur announcement they would be deleting images from anonymous uploaders after some time (as images dragged to <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/HackMD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HackMD</span></a> notes become <a href="https://ciberlandia.pt/tags/imgur" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>imgur</span></a> hosted images), and they replied this: </p><p>"Our plan is to help all paid users backup their imgur images to HackMD's server and we will not do so for users on the free plan.<br> <br>On the other hand, all image uploading will go to HackMD's server before mid May for both free and paid plan users. There will be a limit of image storage for each HackMD account later this year."<br> <br>Would any HackMD users here like to collaborate on some Python, maybe Selenium, automation to download and preserve Hackmd notes with images?</p>

I need something lightweight but convenient to take notes with for work. Normally I’d just use neovim locally, but I do a lot of switching between stuff that needs mouse input, so it becomes kinda annoying. I know several of my colleagues use HackMD so figured I’d check it out at least, but I’m concerned that you don’t seem to need to pay for single user needs, which usually means the user is the product being sold elsewhere in some manner..</p>
