@Old_IT_geek If the government truly cared about affordability, they’d have banned all foreign buyers, not just restricted them to new builds. Instead, they’re just pampering their corporate overlords—the big developers—who need to offload their shoebox-sized apartments. This isn’t about helping ordinary people; it’s about protecting profits. #homeless #homelessness #auspol #developers

My boots I got for cheap in 2019 have reached a point where they cannot keep much water out any more. My feet are cold and wet inside these and I need to replace them. Please consider helping our #Mutualaid fund ($521/$1000 for this week) so I can get new boots! (Edit: funds earmarked for the boots specifically have now been received but we still have plenty else on our list of needs, check out ko-fi.com/athakitsune )

The ChangeWA goblins sent an email seeking opposition to #Washington HB 1380 - the "public camping" bill.

So you know what to do Washington Mastodians! Here is the link:

Click on the link. Full out your info on the form. Click "Support". And leave a comment. I suggest "Sweeping #homeless people doesn't help homeless people and has been shown repeatedly to just push people around and make the crisis worse. Thank you for a bill that will stop it."

Alright folks, we are on $551 out of $1000 and we have 3 more days to go this week, can we find $449 more? You are all awesome people and I say we CAN #stabilise our #financial situation with your help!

The phone bill, the car #loan, the #insurance, the bureaucracy expenses, the food, and the things we need to make the #Vulpibus happen are all coming together thanks to you! Let's gooooo!

I decided to just entirely delete the #reddit account I was using up to this point.

I was thinking of leaving it there as a statement to how insane I went trying not to die while #homeless in #losangeles and had been using it during what was essentially a six month long panic attack.

I am sure it can be found still.

I didn't feel like having a six month #mentalhealth crisis visible. It included someone trying to kill me, and going to a mental hospital afterwards.

“God must have sent y’all to me”: There are many people and institutions working today to help the #homeless and near-homeless, including religious nonprofits. But they need to work together and with an aim: not just getting people off the streets and into treatment, but ultimately in a job and family. For a human reclamation effort of this scale, we need local and state gov’ts to lead the way. detroitnews.com/story/news/loc

I was just waiting for this.

Any time people take it upon themselves to help the homeless, the government tells them to stop.

My only advice, if you do help the homeless, is to ignore the government when they tell you to stop and actively resist their efforts to stop you if they take that next step.

Fucking ridiculous.
