ArunmozhiAfter 2 days with <a href="https://social.arunmozhi.in/tags/PyCharm" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PyCharm</a>.. I am just realizing the power of a really good IDE. The ability to just run tests from different contexts, rerun failed ones in a single click are something I really missed. It really eases the cognitive load.

ArunmozhiI am saddened to announce I have crossed over to the dark side and bought a <a href="https://social.arunmozhi.in/tags/PyCharm" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#PyCharm</a> Professional license. I am not abandoning Vim or Emacs. Just neither is going to be a primary editor. I am done configuring. It’s been 4 years and I am glad to be back with PyCharm.

WolfI use <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/NeoVim" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#NeoVim</a>, vi edit-mode in <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/bash" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#bash</a>, and <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/ideavim" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#ideavim</a> in <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/pycharm" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#pycharm</a> and <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/rustrover" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#rustrover</a>. In Bash, (once you hit Esc) you can edit in the line, or hit v to open up $EDITOR. But in the line, it’s really only vi, not Vim! So you can’t daw or ciw. Turns out I use the word text-object all the time! Very frustrating!

Why does it even offer a locallly installed <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Python</a> interpreter to use? With uv, it would be best, to just pick the version you want to use and let uv download the desired version. Personally, I think, if I use uv, I would also go all in with it. Or least offer the option to users like me. PyCharm still doesn't offer to download and install Python 3.13.
