A bit of cuteness for today ~ Ballerina Bunny: https://1-lisas-baker.pixels.com/featured/ballerina-bunny-lisa-s-baker.html
We're a week into April here on the Canadian prairies [1], but it's a little different than other places. Spring isn't here, it's on the horizon. Everything's still got a blanket of snow on it, and we could easily get more [2]. There's no blooms or buds to tell you spring is on the way.
There are really only two big clues that Old Man Winter is thinking about leaving:
1. Days are noticeably longer than just a few weeks ago.
2. The jackrabbits!
They're turning brown again, losing their winter-white coat. Unfortunately it's kind of ruining their camouflage.
I find it interesting that the degree or progression of the change is so different between different individuals. I'm told the change is triggered by the lengthening days, so it's some sort of built-in variance.
These are white-tailed jackrabbits, which are actually a species of hare, not rabbit. They're the most common hare on the Canadian prairies, shown here in my backyard.
[1] It's probably a week into April where you are, too. Funny how that works.
[2] In the time I've lived in Saskatchewan, I have seen snow fall in every month of the calendar except July.
Urban Rabbits — Shot on film, digitally edited to remove an unsightly gas pipe. These little buddies weren't skittish at all and stuck around with enough time to take a bunch of photos, this one was my favourite of the set.
In the U.S., the stove pellets are also called Horse Bedding. They can be kind of sharp and ouchy on bunny feet, but there is a way to fix it. Either add something on top like Picasso suggested, or rehydrate the pellets. It makes them nice and fluffy. I let them dry out overnight before I change the boxes. Sorry for the lame photo…
My short comic is featured in the latest issue of The Suburban Review magazine
I'm not allowed to share more than these images due to an exclusivity agreement. To read the full comic purchase a magazine here:

The comic isn't directly related to @swingtimecomic but it could conceivably take place in the same universe
Bobby again, but I messed up a bit with lighting, contrast, gamma, blah blah blah...
