I just finished an ARC and the book was so desperately in need of an editor. Honestly it felt like the writer hasn’t even read back over their own work, let alone gone through any kind of beta reading or editing process. Had this happened to you? How do you handle it?

I can’t help and put myself in the writers shoes. I know how much goes into a book. I can not give the book, in its current state, a positive review, but I also don’t want to be cruel.

I love to read and every once in a while, I find a book that I cannot put down, no matter what is happening around me. in my opinion, there are 2 key takeaways from 'white fragility' by robin diangelo:

1. racism is not an ‘either / or’ binary but rather a continuum &
2. the challenge is to accept and grapple with this truth.
