New camera works! 
HP5/Rodinal is so crunchy. I love it. Grainy, yes. But crunchy. I like crunchy.
I guess I'll need to try printing a few of these to see if I like how the negative translates to the paper. I like the scans, so I hope I'll like the prints too.

These two frames from my bulk loaded Kentmere 400 test roll are hot messes with light leaks and weird spots. These were not consecutive frames and rest of the frames from a short roll were mostly fine. I shot the roll at 1600. While I'll try to diagnose and improve the loading and developing process, I will say that I am somewhat charmed by the happy accidents in these frames.

Scanned the test roll from my new (to me) folder - this was my first time zone focusing. I tried to keep things at f/8 or above, except for one picture of a tree trunk at f/5.6 as I needed the light…and it’s not very well focused 
Used a handheld light meter. Sunny 16 scares me.
Need to get another few rolls under my belt before #folderweek

@kaiser_photo @tomnorthfilm @bosak @analogfusion I've never used #Rodinal, so this is just rumour, but I've heard that, while the original Rodinal was bulletproof, some of the modern formulations (not all) are prone to sudden complete failure.

Temperatures were way off as this was just a quick test to see if the whole thing is really possible, will do tests with proper temps some day, as this opens a lot of possibilities...

Some photos from my jaunt around Uptown #CharlotteNC this past weekend. (For some reason Charlotte calls their downtown Uptown, I don’t know why. I lived there for almost a decade before moving to the ‘burbs in 2020, sometimes I miss it, most times I don’t.)
Spent a few hours in town with the #YashicaMAT124 today. Decided to rely solely on the built-in meter which makes dialing in settings for the exposure mostly a snap. Negative density looks pretty good, I think. #TriX400 with #Rodinal - hope to have time to scan tomorrow. I wish I knew how much of the frame is metered - I tried to meter for the shadows and recompose on shots with a lot of range.
Here's a few pics from yesterday's trip to the #NCZoo. It was a beautiful day - sunny and warm. Was nice to get out and walk around in the sunlight.

I also shot a roll of #HarmanPhoenix but it went into the fridge to wait until I reach "critical mass" of C41 rolls to justify opening and mixing the chemicals.
