I just got a Zooz ZSE41 door open/close sensor which supports 800 LR which I was able to pair in LR mode after some futzing. RF performance is _way_ better than any of the other gear I have right now.</p>

I had to cut in a deeper box due to the size of these <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/zooz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>zooz</span></a> switches, and ended up just going with a 3 gang due to all the other wires that came into the box (2 separate outlet runs also exit here).<br>I mostly like these switches, but I’m not crazy about the little delay that’s caused by the switch waiting to detect a double-tap, and I’m not finding a way to disable it. It’s a shame, ‘cause both <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/zwave" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>zwave</span></a> and WiFi coms are really snappy. <br>I will die mad about the aluminum wire in this house (and hopefully not -From- it!). Fortunately I’ve seen Noalox on any re-work, and I’m being super diligent about using it as well.<br>I know there’s mixed feelings about <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/wago" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wago</span></a> connectors for line voltage. I’m going to keep an eye on them, but they were a lot easier than wire nuts, as specially since I didn’t have a lot of slack to work with. <br>There was no way I could have crammed all this into a 2 gang box, and I’m glad I didn’t try.</p>

Was having issues with slowness and lost messages.</p><p>Looked at the network graph found in zwave-js-ui in <a href="https://hometech.social/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a> we could see a lot of devices routing through a specific device. Once we power cycle it we had big improvements. Also did a network heal so the the routes are rebuilt just in case.</p><p>I've seen this multiple times where a specific device could be causing issues and just needs to have the power cut for a few seconds.</p><p>Sharing just in case.</p>

I&#39;m planning to move it to HAOS in either a <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/proxmox" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>proxmox</span></a> VM or LXC containter soon - I just set up a cluster last weekend and want to make it easier to move HA to another cluster node if there&#39;s an issue - I won&#39;t have to update DNS, the container/VM will retain its IP address after migrating.</p><p>This is going to be easier for me because I&#39;m running <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/zwave" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>zwave</span></a>-js-ui and <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/zigbee2mqtt" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>zigbee2mqtt</span></a> in containers on other machines, so I won&#39;t have to hassle with configuring USB passthrough.</p>

The switches work perfectly, although I would have preferred that they run a <a href="https://mas.to/tags/zigbee" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>zigbee</span></a> or <a href="https://mas.to/tags/zwave" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>zwave</span></a> protocol rather than their own proprietary one. <br>Zero complaints with <a href="https://mas.to/tags/lutron" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lutron</span></a> performance though.</p>
Joerg Jaspert :debian:<p>Hrm. First time tried Matter in my Homeassistant. Ended up removing that again, will send them plugs back and get me ones with Zwave or Zigbee. Those at least do work.</p><p>First of I had to get a different phone, or that companion app always insisted on "No wifi available" (a clear lie, obviously, just accessed my HA over wifi). And then when trying to setup the plug, the app hang right after the configure step (I saw it on the wifi router) trying to speak to it again. Just never found it. Sondern wo das Thermostat vernünftig getrennt ist. Gibt es so natürlich nicht mehr, nur noch den kombinierten Schwachfug. (Ja, ich weiss, kann man auch mit einem extra Thermostat koppeln, ist trotzdem bäh).</p><p>Frag mich aber eh, ob ich dabei nicht gleich von Homematic auf was anderes wechsel.
