If there's someone around you who is #suffering especially from #isolation and doesn't get to be with other #people in #community much, take the #initiative to #ReachOut and #invite them to engage in a #social #activity with you. Try to #identify and #eliminate the #barriers keeping them isolated, if they want to be more engaged. Part of having a strong community is having #robust, #systemic ways to #adapt in order to fold people in.

Shoutout to #LibreTexts advocate, Lisa Sharpe Elles, from The University of Kansas who has been named KU Libraries Textbook Hero of 2025. Lisa began using #LibreTexts in her #Chemistry courses in 2019, and officially ditched her expensive online commercial homework platform for our #ADAPT open homework and assessment platform in 2021.

Whenever things go unexpectedly awry on areas of visible presentation, I will often turn what could be seen as a mistake, or negative outcome into a positive opportunity to create intentional art. The unexpected surprise of leaked acrylic solvent cement beneath the protective layer means that now this device is getting a cool 3-eyed monster logo or a rocket ship blasting into space.

Successful species adapt quickly to changes in their environment.

No need to simply piss and moan about the past when you can actively engage the present and steer the future towards your vision for a better civilization.

You have complete control over that which you completely control.

Life will go on. You will earn and spend money. You will have sadness and joy, both. This is not the end. It is simply another chapter in your book of life and only you can fill those pages.

Went for a walk yesterday afternoon. Took a photo down the main street of my home town. The snow was falling lightly and had not yet been cleared. So some of the white stuff was all over the reads, walkways and vehicles. The temperature was -9C but with the wind it felt like -15C.

It reminded me that we always need to adapt to the conditions we face. I was well bundled up in layers of appropriate clothing. What has it been like in your part of the world? #Exercise #Adapt #MoveForward

We’re teetering on the brink of ecosystem and cultural collapse. So how do we #adapt and transform to the changing realities? I joined Manda Scott and Morgan Philips to discuss our new book, Transformative Adaptation - Another world is still just possible.

ACCIDENTAL GODS · Adaptation is Here: Launching the TrAd (Transformative Adaptation) Book with Rupert Read and Morgan PhilipsAs we head rapidly into biophysical and cultural collapse, how do we adapt and transform to the changing realities?

"If you want to help save the world, which is now very hard to save, don't bank on the financialisation of climate and nature. Bank on organisations that are actually reality based and actually have a plan to #adapt to what is coming."

I appeared at the Building Bridges Summit in Geneva recently. Watch now.

Day one of the #OpenEd24 conference is finally here! It feels like the perfect time to remind #OpenEd advocates that #LibreTexts open homework and assessment platform, #ADAPT, is here to revolutionize the way faculty integrate #OER into their courses without breaking their students' bank accounts.

This is my daughter cooking dinner for herself. She has #DownSyndrome and had a stroke. For the past several years, we have been teaching her how to cook. At one point, it became crystal clear that we needed to change the approach and heavily #adapt the recipes. We threw a lot of things at the wall to see what sticks. One win was an electric skillet. The temperature control needed mods so we put colored dots around the outside with different colored nail polish so she can set by color. It seems to work best for her compared to a stove. I helped her (tonight) with a mise-en-place and that makes a huge difference for her. #cooking #food #independence
