@icecolbeveridge Compare the technique of "tewari", from the game of Go, which asks, "Would these moves have been effective if played in a different order?"

(This makes more sense for Go, a game of placement, than for Chess, a game of movement.)

Played 3 new games this month:

1. Back to the future: Back in time -- I love the theme and design, but not sure about the replayability. Might be fine with different players. 7.5/10.

2. ito (it0?) -- simple rules but challenging to get it right! Fun to learn how others think about stuff. Everyone's scale is so different! 8/10.

3. Beacon Patrol -- not bad but nothing too exciting. Having a solo mode is nice though. 6/10.

Beim ersten Spiel hatten wir die Bilder vergessen - geht natürlich gar nicht! Also eine 2. hinterher geschoben. 😎
War die erste noch sehr knapp, fiel die zweite Partei dann doch deutlich aus. Frau hat eine neue Strategie, die offensichtlich erfolgreich ist, da muss ich an meiner arbeiten, um mitzuhalten. schön, denn so bleit es interessant - ein tolles Spiel! 😍

Übersicht von der Tischstirnseite nach der Kanal-Ära noch vor der Auswertung: Vor dem obligatorischen Brettspielregal steht das Cover aufrecht, davor liegt das Hauptbrett. Im schließen sich die Bank und Rohstofftoken an in Inserts von EuroHell. Links davon liegt das Tableau von Spieler Orange mit 31 Pfund als Pokerchips, rechts davon das von Spielerin Rot mit 17. Auf dem Hauptbrett ist Ornage auf den Südwesten beschränkt, während Rot in einem schmalen Band von Nordwesten nach Südosten vertreten ist. Eine Brauerei (rot) und eine Kohlemine (Orange) konnten noch nicht geflippt werden und werden in der nächsten Runde je einen Rohstoff liefern.
Übersicht von oben nach dem letzten Zug noch vor der letzten Auszahlung und der Auswertung: Orange ist im Gebiet Coaldalebrooks - Cannock - Nuneaton - Worcester vertreten. Rot in einem von Nordwest bis Südost verlaufenden, breiten Streifen. Sie hat die beiden wertvollen Töpfereien gebaut, alle Stahlwerke, Handelhäuser bis Level IV und Brauereien bis Level III. Die Ausbauweise von Orange ist unspezifiziert, also von jedem etwas.
Detailbild vom Kohle- und Stahlmarkt zu Ende des Spiels: Weil Orange noch eine Kohlemine gebaut hat, ist der Markt wieder voll und auch Stahl ist mit lediglich 3 fehlenden Cubes, sehr entspannt.

"Big Floor" version of Diplomacy. Definitely would like one for myself. What other #boardgames (historical or otherwise) handling 4+ players could benefit from visually impressive “big floor” versions? (Big floor space not included.) What a fantastic convention game presentation.

As seen (and played) at Circle DC convention this weekend. Alas, I was not there; photo from the GU Wargaming Society.
