#Tasers & Excited Delirium

youtube.com/watch?v=7Yd9nLQx3qQ

#JohnOliver discusses whether Tasers are as safe and effective as the company that makes them claims, the broader effect Tasers have had on #policing, and why you shouldn’t test Tasers out on any of your family members. You’d think that goes without saying, but clearly it doesn’t.

That video of an Autistic 17 year old getting shot on the news really upset me a couple of days ago. I was pissed about it for hours, and it made it almost impossible for me to fall asleep. It is sickening that that could happen. Those officers were clearly trigger-happy, as you don't just fire 9 bullets at someone within seconds of arriving. I hope all of the officers involved are fired, and imprisoned. They misassessed the situation, but that doesn't justify the bullet barrage. We need a new series of protests, similar to that of George Floyd. Killing children is not okay. and he was behind a fence.

Tracked An Alleged Tesla Arsonist Using The Suspect’s
Cops used tower dumps to track not only suspect’s phone but also . Detectives asked Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T to send information on all connecting devices to six relevant towers. They saw a Verizon BlueLink onboard Wi-Fi system had pinged two of the towers. According to a complaint against the eventual suspect investigators believe the BlueLink was inside his Hyundai.

#American shakedown: #Police won't charge you, but they'll grab your #money

"#US police are operating a co-ordinated scheme to seize as much of the public’s cash as they can"

"[...] in the eyes of thousands of cash-hungry #cops you’re a rolling ATM."

The article ends with some travel advice.

My advice: avoid the USA if you're not located there for a couple of decades.

CBCANALYSIS | Travelling to the U.S.? Beware the police cash-grab: Neil Macdonald | CBC NewsAcross America, law enforcement officers - from federal agents to state troopers right down to sheriffs in one-street backwaters - are operating a vast, co-ordinated scheme to grab as much of the public’s cash as they can, writes Neil Macdonald.

@ProPublica #Cops can't be trusted in any way, shape or form. Every cop must have their body cam video and audio enabled at all times, even in the bathroom. Every cop must keep their firearms unloaded and stored in a lock box in the trunk. Every cop convicted of violations of law must forfeit their pensions. Every cop cannot be trusted, ever.
