1. It means you're a "conservative" coated #nationalist #fascist who wants daddy #oligarch to come in and stroke your cheek UwU
2. You're ACTUALLY #leftwing and are sick of being compared to a bunch of pro #palestinian #genocide enjoyers who can't seem to figure out that they're the baddies.

we see the #toxicIdealism on the #left, the "it's not perfect so i won't #vote" because we're on #mastodon and in other social silos on the left, which amplifies our impression
still, it's a lot of people like that, enough to make a difference
which is why some of these toxic idealism voices we see are just #geopolitical #trollFarm #psyop, cosplaying their fake #leftWing bonafides and working hard to suppress the vote on the left
while talking with my #grandpa about the #tariffs today, i think i settled on another realization. a lot of the ignorance and uneducation on the right comes from the idea of wisdom aquired with age. when i go to thanksgiving, i know that what i say is valued just as much as what my grandpa says, but i feel like on the right there’s a lot more of the “i’m older than you so i know better and you’re just wrong” mentality.
Back at the very beginning of January I mentioned¹ I'd stumbled across Han Hogan, one half of the artist duo "Namaco" behind "Mega Dreoilín"², considered by one critic as:
...one of the best Irish artworks of 2024 so far... incredibly engaging, brilliantly designed, sophisticated in its form and execution, and unexpectedly moving.
"Mega Dreoilín" is still on display at the Museum of Literature Ireland³.
Han is a dynamo! She's been working with Donal on a new artwork/game/commentary:
...a video game about the Irish economy: why we have found ourselves here and where to go next. Specifically it looks at the idea of neocolonialism by multinationals who don’t pay taxes etc - and the wider effects on people’s lived reality in Ireland.
This work will be part of a group exhibition, "Liquid Urbanisms"⁴, at the Lab Gallery in Dublin city centre from Friday 14 March to Thursday 24 April 2025.

I was basically reminded by a certain David today, whose fighting a certain multinational Goliath, that #tech people just can't see the forest for the trees... and also that the social antennas are a bit lose, AND THAT'S COMING FROM ME.
In any case, I'm gonna sign up for a certain #left leaning party to formulate ideas with, because even people who are #leftwing and #techie have a tendency to represent #multinational and #corporate interests - without even knowing it.

Literally, just before I clicked on the video, I was wondering when the #Trump regime would get around to real-deal #dictator #persecution. So, when is the rebellion? Never. 2/2 #Harris and the #Democrats were never going to fix this. At best, they would have slowed #Americas decline. Why? Because #neoliberal #capitalism eats itself. #Liberals are Neoliberals. It is a right-wing position, just a kinder, gentler capitalist philosophy (lol). And that’s why they would never fix what needs fixed. That’s why, even when the Dems were in power, they did very little to correct an unsustainable direction. America hasn’t had a real #leftwing movement since #FDR. The malaise of the #1970s should have been an indicator things weren’t working. Instead, the #US kicked the can down the road with #Reagan, and then #Clinton.
I think #leftwing #American need to come to terms with the reality that the #Democrats are controlled #opposition. They are likely to be dissolved, at least on the #federal level. There is no stopping #Trump or the #Republicans.
