papiris<p>I&#39;m automating stuff at the family farm using <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/homeassistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>homeassistant</span></a> ; lights, smoke alarms, stove fire preventers, heaters.</p><p>It&#39;s inspiring to see so many iot devices support <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/ZigBee" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ZigBee</span></a> but also infuriating that 50% of the ones I&#39;ve encountered has something fucky with their zigbee implementation. It&#39;s also somewhat concerning that the mains-connected zb router devices I&#39;ve found will drop off immediately when the power goes out. The thought of not getting alerts about a fire in the barn if the power&#39;s out, concerns me.</p><p>I&#39;ve got my eye on <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/matter" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>matter</span></a> , but I can&#39;t find compatible smoke alarms in Norway (so I can be confident they comply with local regulations, and return them if they&#39;re bad), and only limited reviews of ones available from abroad.</p><p>I see there&#39;s <a href="https://www.matteralpha.com/category/smoke-co-alarm" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">matteralpha.com/category/smoke</span><span class="invisible">-co-alarm</span></a> and <a href="https://community.home-assistant.io/t/smoke-detector-with-matter-over-thread-support/810731" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">community.home-assistant.io/t/</span><span class="invisible">smoke-detector-with-matter-over-thread-support/810731</span></a> but idk.</p><p>Can anyone recommend a mains-powered zigbee router device with a built-in battery, that&#39;ll keep it routing for at least 1 hour if it loses power?</p><p>Alternatively, a small (max 20*10*10cm) <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/ups" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ups</span></a> that&#39;ll power a zb router or other tiny device for 1 hour? <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/NUT" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>NUT</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/networkUpsTools" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>networkUpsTools</span></a> compatibility is a big plus</p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/askFedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>askFedi</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/smartHome" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>smartHome</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/homeAutomation" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>homeAutomation</span></a></p>
RockyC<p>Anyone have any ideas why I can't get NUT running on my Debian install? </p><p>upsc fails with "Connection refused," and when I check the status of nut-server, it has also failed with "getaddrinfo: Name or service not known"</p><p><a href="https://www.jeffgeerling.com/blog/2025/nut-on-my-pi-so-my-servers-dont-die" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">jeffgeerling.com/blog/2025/nut</span><span class="invisible">-on-my-pi-so-my-servers-dont-die</span></a></p><p>EDIT: Never mind. I just plugged it directly into my Home Assistant host and ran the NUT integration. Works like a champ.<br>Home Assistant FTW!<br><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/NUT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NUT</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/NetworkUPSTools" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NetworkUPSTools</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a></p>
Pasquale 📷 🇫🇷 🦻<p>Sur <a href="https://piaille.fr/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a>, j'ai le module <a href="https://piaille.fr/tags/NetworkUPSTools" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NetworkUPSTools</span></a> qui me demande un login/pass, mais impossible de me souvenir ce que j'avais paramétré à la base.
