Mit diesem PUBLII hat man echt in 15 Minuten seine Website gebaut. Das mit dem offline Basteln und dann am Server syncen erinnert mich ein wenig an die Dreamweaver-Zeiten. Was habe ich mich damals gern herumgespielt! Es hat die letzten zwei Stunden schon wieder Spaß gemacht:

If onyone else is thinking of using #publii I definitely recommend it, if you want a simple easy life. It managed to (mostly) to wrangle a WP format xml export from Squarespace it, and went off and made a good attempt at getting all the images (which utterly failed when I tried self hosting WP).
Where I hit snags was on volumn. My first thought was to sync the whole thing, that failed. It forced me to batch it, publish a few (7/8) posts at a time, which persuaded me to clean them up.

Took a much needed nature walk this past weekend, but didn't post until now while I got to know #publii some more.

It is amazing how many different peaceful soundscapes/landscapes are just a short drive away from my town. Gotta find more!!

After a lot of experimentation, I think I found the best replacement for Medium for the vast majority of people. It is Publii with the Mono template.

Incredibly straitforward to use, and the Publii team offers a visual editor as a Desktop application which is unique in the SSG space.

I think it's mostly ready. I just need to report an issue with #Publii (the app generates FIGURE tags around IMGs without checking if one already exists, at least 1 or 2 nodes up), but other than that, it's looking good! Today I added a "Share on #Mastodon" button to my #Publii blog, and fixed the "Follow" icon I had implemented using a crude hack.

The former saved me Euro 29 for an overpriced plugin. Let me know if you want to know how to do this for free yourself.
