I enter this old computer shop, and spot a Tandy Model 102. I ask if it’s for sale, the guy literally chocked:

“what!?… <recovering>.. what, what would you even do with that…!?”

So many cool things, you couldn’t understand. But it wasn’t for sale. 😢

one thing I managed to do today, I modded one of my 40 track 5 1/4 inch drives with a new index sensor around the motor spindle.

I added a small reflective IR sensor module to to the spindle and painted the side of it black, leaving out about 6mm of paint.

Now I can read flippy disks without having to punch mirrored index holes to the floppies itself.

Trying to setup a classic Mac emulator on my 2012 MacBook Pro running Catalina… not so fun, brew spent several hours building and installing the dependencies for qemu before it failed because qemu needs at least clang-1500 now.

Sigh, I’ll try BasiliskII instead I guess?
