Love the font on this incised sign for the girls entrance to the former Victoria Drive Secondary school in the Scotsoun area of Glasgow. Designed by Kerr and Watson, it opened in 1909. The school itself is long gone, replaced by housing, but its gateposts, with their skillfully carved lettering, remain.

I love that more and more Glasgow businesses are using hand-painted signage which is much more in-keeping with the traditional Glaswegian architecture. This really enhances the local streetscapes.

Early commercial art. The artists of the “Wiedenbrücker Schule” besides church art also devoted themselves to commercial art. This sign for a beekeeping business was never actually used, but hangs on a building of the “Wiedenbrücker Schule”, which serves as an advertisement for the artists' services.
