Quinze Plush<p>Since I am going through a <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/reading" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>reading</span></a> streak right now (5 books in January, 3 so far in Feb), I am testing out <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Bookwyrm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bookwyrm</span></a> and <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/TheStoryGraph" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TheStoryGraph</span></a>. So far, I prefer thestorygraph.com:</p><p><strong>UX consideration:</strong></p><ul><li>I am positively intrigued by TSG using <a href="https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/cdb671ee-99ce-4c7b-9f6f-fe291b237c71#community_reviews" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">structured data for reviews</a> instead of free-form text: I see a good potential for recommendations</li><li>Some indie books were missing on both platforms: adding them on thestorygraph.com was intuitive, the process to add one on the bookwyrm.social instance was overwhelming</li><li>The book catalog on bookwyrm.social is a mess, full of <a href="https://bookwyrm.social/series/by/782?series_name=The%20Murderbot%20Diaries" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">duplicate books</a> and authors. I understand the complexity of the task, and will keep an eye on <a href="https://github.com/bookwyrm-social/bookwyrm/issues/3493" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">this issue</a>, but don't have the spoons to navigate this right now</li><li>Overall, TSG's interface is tidier and snappier</li></ul><p>🧵 1/2</p>
