I just had a rummage around in a big box o’ random crap I’ve got in the spare room as it occurred to me that I used to have a Zip drive and thought it might be in there. Alas, no, but I did find some of my old Zip disks, plus some other random bits and bobs.

I found my old joysticks for my Commodore Plus/4 (very un-ergonomic, I never liked using them even back in the day), the A520 modulator for my Amiga 500 (haven’t needed to use that in ages!), a seemingly unopened floppy head cleaners for both 3 1/2” and 5 1/4” drives (I’ve never even owned a 5 1/4” drive, so that’ll remain unused) and, the bit I’m most looking forward to delving into, 6 CDs worth of audio samples. There must be at least some useful sounds in that lot I can use!

I’m sure I’ve still got that Zip drive *somewhere*, I seriously doubt I’d have chucked it. I bloody hope not anyway.

Hey folks, spotted a bundle of New, Blank, & Sealed IBM Formatted Zip 100MB Disks on Goodwill's auction site. Current bid's at $16, with the auction closing on April 21st. Looks like 12 of them if I’m counting right, which would put them currently about $2 / disk wish shipping. Depending on where it lands might be a great find for anyone needing zip 100 media for data transfer on retro machines.
