Yes, Imitation Meat Is Processed. Can It Also Be #Healthy?
After being targeted by the meat industry, swept up in the culture wars and pummeled in sales, two #plantbased meat companies are reinventing themselves.
Plant based meat is ultraprocessed, but not necessarily unhealthy, according to several experts. The products generally have less saturated fat, no cholesterol and more fiber than animal meat, and zero #hormones or #antibiotics.

@BenjaminHCCarr did you see the articles about how the meat lobby managed to get veggie products (including tofu, for example) grouped together with unhealthy foods to make them look bad in the statistics?
I'd have to search, but it was a few months back.
@BenjaminHCCarr the term is next to meaningless. Meat torn from animals is also arguably "ultra processed". Unprocessed meat is called a live chicken. No one eats unprocessed meat.
