The same playbook seems to be playing out over and over again:

"Fake News" describes a misinformation campaign largely from right wing agitators, then becomes the cry of the right.

"Woke", from “stay woke" is first a rallying cry to stay aware of injustice and strive for something better. Now the right use it to describe anything they don't like.

DEI was a movement which was about ensuring that the systems, products, and structures which affect us work for everyone. Now it's just a throwaway word to mean "not focused on the dominant group”.
