In 2018 my co-worker Nick Summers interviewed Gints Zilbalodis, who won the Best Animated Feature Oscar for Flow (2024).

Gints’s work was already impressive, but what caught my attention was the short Aqua, about a cat that has to overcome its fear of the ocean - clearly a draft for what would be the masterpiece that is Flow.

Great read (and watch) for any animation lovers.

Also: Flow was made using @Blender and it’s the first Oscar winning animation to do so!
